We all hate those pages where you must become a fan to view something, and when you do, you have to complete a survey. Well, half the time, the page is a hoax or is something stupid. The reason for that is because the makers of these pages just want you to go though the survey and hopefully make them money. The objective of this page is for me to explain how it works and what can be done about it.
Other pages just have adsense, like this one does, or what's called "linkbux". Linkbux is not to bad, it's better than a survey but however I use adsense because I find that it is the least annoying to visitors. Do I make money If you click on one of the ads here? Yes, in fact, I do. This page is more to help stop the stupid pages rather than to make a profit, however.
Why do they want you to become a fan first? Simple. If you become a fan of something, it is almost as good as inviting all your friends. It appears on your news feed and more people are directed to the page as a result. That's the only reason I have it set up that way. But, as you now know, my page has no survey and is real. Hey page owners!!! See, it's possible to have a page without a survey.
What can you do about it? Well, the best thing is to simply not join them so they get less members.
Hold up! What if I want to see the page? Head over to the "wall" of the page, and see if anyone has posted complaining about a survey. If so, don't join the page. Simple as that. If you have already joined the page, post on the wall complaining about how it's a survey, and hopefully less people will join up.
Lastly, unlike! Always make sure to unlike a page you've joined if it's a scam. It's just common sense. As well, you can try reporting pages that are like that, but I couldn't say what for.
Thanks for reading this, and don't forget to share the fan page with your friends to help slow the issue of the "survey page". If you haven't by now, take a look at the picture I made on the right-hand side of the page.
